Pau D'Arco Skin Salve with Calendula

We are proud to announce the availability of our new Pau D’Arco Skin Salve! Two years ago we halted production of our Pau D’Arco Skin Salve to reformulate the product. We have completed our work and are in the full swing of production!

What we have changed: The new salve formulation has replaced peanut oil with olive oil. This has changed the consistency and color of the product, but is also thought to increase skin’s hydration. The packaging is visually very similar to the previous packaging, only it is twice the size. Our new 2oz. tube is foil sealed to ensure its integrity.

What is Pau D’Arco: For thousands of years, indigenous tribes of South America have used Pau D’Arco as a traditional cure-all and praise the substance for its healing properties. Pau D’Arco comes from the inner bark of the purple-flowering Taheebo tree. As scientists investigate this tree they have noted how it seems to have an incredible ability to resist fungal growth that is common in the environment in which they grow. When the inner bark is taken and steeped in water, the result is an extract with similar antifungal properties.

How to use Alta’s Pau D’Arco Skin Salve: Start with a small amount on the tip of your finger or on a cotton swab, apply to any area of concern and rub in until fully absorbed. There is no need to cover or bandage the area after application unless desired. Pau D’Arco can be applied to any skin irritation, i.e. bug bites, dry skin, blemishes, cuts and scrapes, chapped lips, athlete’s foot, age and sun spots or even yeast infections- to name a few. Apply as needed, 2-4 times/day, and rub in completely to avoid clothing stains and skin discoloration from unabsorbed salve.
